Entry: coffee on friday Oct 18, 2009

with jane was great :) spent about three hours of endless high-school gossip and talks of other more random things in this lovely cafe we found tucked away from the busier part of the city since the day was too pretty to be stuck at home. i'd spent most of my morning/ afternoon doing work anyway so i needed a break! i don't think i've ever managed to appreciate melbourne this much because i haven't been doing much walking and exploring by myself, let alone with the boys; with them it's always very objective trips to the city. have lunch at xxx, drop by xxx to buy stuff, then back to study/ do assignments/ dota (pfft) but i think the idea of mindlessly walking around the city just to find a good place to sit down and have a drink and talk doesn't appeal to them. any thoughts on this? i know not all boys (or men, whatever) want to spend their days indoors in front of the computer, oh george please tell me i'm right about this. maybe that's what girlfriends are for! i swear i'm going to keep up with the coffee days while i'm here, i don't get as much freedom in malaysia since i'm too scared to drive alone and they don't have nice little cafes like this anyway.

i have this sudden liking for aviator shades. i know these are the kind of sunglasses my grandfather used to wear but they increase your cool factor by +347192 points (not that i care anyway, but they make me feel like a rockstar, hah) and surprisingly i dont look too shabby in them! shuling and i were having fun trying on all sorts of shades at sportsgirl yesterday and the ozzy osbourne one must have been the funniest ... now that i think about it they look like john lennon's as well but in context it being ozzy's is more amusing, you feel like going on a swearing frenzy once you put it on.

things here are so much cheaper than malaysia, dollar for dollar. i've been trying to find a job since august to pay for my weekly expenses/ afford more random things but to no avail :( i've never received a single response from anyone i've sent my resume to. not my luck this year maybe :'( sorry motherrrr!

tomorrow i'll be bringing jane to the many cafes around melbourne university during my afternoon break. more coffee! :) maybe as an architect i should specialise in designing cafes haha! it's an idea :P
